Good job today! We are making progress. THANK YOU for…
Rehearsal Plan for 2/27/24
Thank you for a strong rehearsal yesterday. You notice that I am attempting to run whole pieces, when possible.
As I suggested, listening to the recordings on repeat is a useful learning tool. Especially “I’m on My Way.”
For Tuesday, February 27, here is your rehearsal plan: Recordings and Resources abound.
- Maid of Constant Sorrow (Walker): We will rehearse Page 10 , m. 70 – m. 93.. We will also review everything we have done to this point.
- This Sky Falls (Hagen): Run the whole piece. We will clean up details as we go.
- I’m On My Way (arr. Trecek-King): WHOLE PIECE. Danger ZONE: pages 7 – 10. We will review page 7 to the end – many times. With and without music.
- Song of Miriam (Hagenberg): Measures 12 – 30. Review, review, review. Slides, rhythms, tempo changes. We will spend some good time on this piece.
- After the Rain (Quartel): WHOLE PIECE. Blend, operative text stresses, triplets execute in time, diphthongs and more…cleaning it up as we go.
- In the Glow of the Moon (Chatman): Let’s work this FROM THE BEGINNING. Deceptively tricky. Independence within each part is critical. Knowing when you come in (since it is inconsistent in pattern).
- By Night (Hagenberg): BEGINNING, working to the end. Staying out of the melodramatic – clean rhythms and pitches. Long lines.
- Love Is a Rain of Diamonds (Walker): Measures 37 – 57. This is a CHALLENGING PASSAGE. And remember, the end is wicked. I will take this in small bits.
It is a beautiful winter day. Enjoy.
Many thanks for your hard work and dedication.
