2/24/26 Rehearsal Plan
Dear CWC,
We accomplished a lot yesterday. Thank you!
Keep heart! It is coming together slowly and beautifully.
Your rehearsal plan for Tuesday, 2/24:
- The Tree House, Beth Denisch: – “Landfall” – whole movement. Review the rhythms, dynamics, accents; “Alder” – beginning through m. 49. As we move into measure 52, please note the following: THERE IS A MAJOR NOTE CHANGE for the Sop 1 and Sop II sections – the last note of m. 52 is a G (G4, the G above middle C) instead of the tied E that is written. Altos have no change. Please mark your score, because we will move into that section on Tuesday.
- This Sky Falls – let’s run the whole piece and work it from the beginning.
- Alway Something Sings: Let’s chop at it from the beginning. Remember to contact Linde, Jennifer, or me if you have any questions or confusion over when/where to sing.
- Concord Fragments: “Walden” – mm. 77 – end. Please remember that Soprano 1s are split. We can review those splits during rehearsal.
- Shadow River: page 8, last three notes – end. Watch the dynamics and the breaths. This is very “in the body” singing.
- I Started Out Singing: Whole piece, let’s work through it if we have time.
- Where the Light Begins: SAME MATERIAL, page 6, mm. 20 – end. REMEMBER that we agreed you would give mm. 20-26 some real attention. The rhythms are tricky, but really doable. I promise that the recording I gave you will really help this piece – just hearing the rhythms within the flow of the piece. I think it is easier than staring at the notes!
The recordings and midi files on the members section of the website will support your personal practice. (www.concordwomenschorus.org).

This is a very ambitious plan. Don’t worry!
Thank you for all of your hard work. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
Jane
