First Soprano rehearsal notes

Rehearsal Notes for December 4

Very few notes from yesterday's orchestra rehearsal. Here they are:
Universal
  • Keep your eyes up: it helps connection with the audience and also the sound
Shalom
  • Work the entrances
  • Jane now begins conducting in 4 at measure 77  (a change from measure 80)
  • Close to “mmmm” on Jane's cue at the end
Forrest I
  • Let the strings help you
  • Be ready to come in on the “Lux” entrances
  • Put a good “ooo” on “Lux”
Forrest II
  • Keep it in the body
Forrest IV
  • Great! (Yay!)
Forrest V
  • When Jane is focused on the orchestra, don't use that as an excuse not to watch her
What Child?
  • Remember that “bum” has no vowel: it's “bm,” even if it's a quarter note (but hold the “m” for the full value of the quarter note)
Stars I Shall Find
  • Watch the page turns! Turn early whenever possible (and always quietly)
  • Keep it moving forward; watch Jane
