March 10, 2026 Rehearsal Plan
Good morning CWC,
Thank you for a very productive rehearsal yesterday.
For Tuesday’s rehearsal plan, I have a specific order, as follows:
- 9:30 am SHARP warm-up
- We will RUN This Sky Falls, from beginning to end, without interruption.
- SECTIONALS, sopranos with Simon in the choir room; altos with Jane in the Sanctuary.
- Sectional GOALS and material: The Tree House – “Alder,” mm. 99 – end (especially the last gnarly bits!); “The Orchard,” beginning to m. 44; Where the Light Begins – beginning – m. 36.
- BREAK (announcements)
- Concord Fragments, “This Day I Am Eighteen” Run the whole piece.
- If we have time left – huzzah! we will use it.
STRATEGY suggestion: listen to the recording of The Tree House from 2017. It will help you wrap your mind around the structure and the rhythms (same with Where the Light Begins).
As a result of our two lost rehearsals, I am working with the board to add another rehearsal on a Thursday in April. IT WILL BE OPTIONAL, but (fingers crossed) helpful!
More details to come.
In the meantime, remember Diane Taraz’s beautiful voice on a re-written “Cockles and Mussels.” 3/14, First Parish in Concord, 3:00 pm. It will be a lovely event, supporting CWC.
