Soprano 2 Notes
We started with the pieces for our performance in October –
Grown Wild
m. 5-8  Crescendo, decrescendo should be noticeable
m. 9  A needs to be high
m. 10 “spring” should be open sound
m. 11  Lift this line, A needs to be high
m. 13 Go
m. 14  No vibrato
m. 15  Unison, so lighter
m. 35  Warmly
m. 43  When we have this phrase, lift and bounce
m. 50  “months” should be open
m. 59  “claw”
m. 76  “aw” and G should be high
Siyahamba
Note when we are on the beat and when off the beat. 
m. 51  Lift this line
m. 55  Crescendo though this phrase to m. 64
m. 63  Crescendo this measure
m. 64  Don't lose energy, re-engage
m. 65  Crescendo on “ham”
m. 81  Don't slow.
Gloria in Excelsis
Pronounced “glaw-ree-ah een ek-shell-sees”
The rhythms of this piece must be together, must be exact, so the audience can understand us, and so it does not sound messy.
Also, you need to know the pattern you are currently singing and the next pattern coming up so it does not surprise you.
m. 49  Mezzo Forte
m. 51  Lighter
m. 57  I'm going to start just typing ITB (in the body) cause she says it soooo often
m. 61  The first 3 notes are stacatto (very short) the rest are not. Lean into “De”
m. 64  Forte
m. 69  From here on out, all the notes are staccato (unless marked legato)
m. 70-71  Look at this! It still needs work.
m. 87  Remember this starts on a B not a G (I'm still hearing Bs)
m. 97  Look at this measure, I heard wrong notes.
O Come, Emmanuel
m. 37  Crescendo
m. 40  Join the altos on the third beat
m. 44  Breath after “cheer”
m. 46  F, not a G
m. 49  Lean on “drive'
m. 52  Pop back up to the soprano line on beat 3
m. 60  Observe the eighth rest
m. 73  At this point Jane said it was “too sluggish”, needs energy throughout
m. 76  Breath after “bind”
m. 101  No vibrato
Stars I Shall Find
This piece requires accuracy of pitch and rhythm. The parts must line up together. 
It needs energy and drive. Do not rest on how pretty it is – we get behind if we do.
m. 13  Sing alto line
m. 17  Pop back up to Soprano line
m. 21-22  Very little “s”, connect it to “holy”
m. 20  Observe the quarter rest
m. 64  Watch
What Child
m. 9  Lean on “sleep”
m. 14  Lean on “keep”
m. 15  Crescendo
m. 16  Mezzo forte
m. 52  Keep it moving
